November 2018 – President’s Chat

Big congratulations to everyone for doing their part whether it was phone banking, canvassing, texting, delivering food, data entry, electioneering at polls, being a staging location director, etc…this massive effort that was comparable to a presidential election effort could not be possible without all of you, THANK YOU and Congratulations to all of you and to of course Susan Wild and her team!

I think we are unusually lucky to have had a special election for the 15th congressional dist. We could definitely see the comparison to a gerrymandered district. I am sure everyone will agree we are so thankful that the PA Supreme Court corrected the congressional district map.

We still have a way to go with gerrymandering to correct the State Assembly and Senate districts as well as an amendment in our states constitution to always have a non-partisan group draw all district maps. I truly believe had we had fair districts we would have won all the state house and senate seats in this area. The effort each of the candidates and their campaigns put out was amazing and I am truly thankful for them for choosing to run in order to give all of us in PA good representation.

[Discussion at General Meeting:]

I would like to have an honest debrief on GOTV election effort. What did we like, didn’t like, maybe we thought could better, etc. I would like to try to prevent going down the rabbit holes of negativity and stay within the time limits. If you could just name the pro or con and allow another person to have a turn that would be ideal. If there is a topic we really need to dive into we can have that conversation at a later time.
